Bendi

G'day all!

Just a quick question for Melburnians - who is going to Bendi?

I want to go on the Friday so I get to see the good stuff before it is all sold. Assuming the Big Car has new tyres, I will take it if I am driving people. However, if someone wants to drive me, that is good too! If I have to take my baby car, I can only take one passenger - anyone in the back seat needs to remove their legs when they get in the car plus they can't actually buy anything cos the boot will be full of my new fleece stash.... The big car is a wagon and should be able to take lots of stash. If worst came to worst, it has roof bars - we could put someone on top so that the precious stash doesn't blow off! LOL (that was a joke, Joyce!)

So let me know when you are going!

anon!

  1. Nope, no Bendigo for me, already spent the wool budget at Marta's, plus just received very self-indulgent orders from Socks That Rock and Vesper.
Also, two rather large and spoilt cats like to eat (lots and often)
So I will live vicariously through SnB and Blogs, buy lots and show me photos, please.

  2. Yer me too,I would love to get to Bendigo(but too far away, obviously) as I need some (ahem, heaps of sock wool I can dye!),but I just spent my allowance on stuff from woolly cottage, and I had planned on some lornas Laces but temptation lead me astray.
I think I gave myself too many B'day treats this year but what the heck!(excuse!!!! a few extra orders for hand dyed socks but I will post soon with all that)
What are you are doing in Merredin!!!!(Don't answer that its just a normal response thingy!) Its a long way from your place!!!!!!

  4. I was thinking of going too, but I spent all my money on a cat's eye (literally) and my order of Lorna's Laces is still to be paid back. I'll think good thoughts about sheep and alpacas and try to be more organised and save for next year.

I'm certainly heading up to Bendigo this year again, but I've booked a seat on a bus organized by the Box Hill guild - very cheap, and I can knit all the way there and back. Maybe you could see if there's any spaces left?

  6. When is the show? Ah, next week. Hmm, I could be tempted. Email me if you'd like some company.

  8. Ken reckons he wants to go to Bendy (and take me!), so he can see what all the fuss is about! But it will be Saturday - he has a job! I just hope he can manage to get the car serviced before we go, or we might spend the day admiring the bush while waiting for the RACV.
In view of the fact that the minimum income specified for happiness is 12 grand, I presume US, which converts to $15900 Aus, and the Aussie pension comes out about $13000, I won't be able to buy anything. Ken might get some sock yarn, although he still owes me for what I bought from Lisa's sale! The thing about money and happiness is that if you have more than the specified minimum amount, at least you can be miserable in comfort. Aussie pensioners aren't even able to be comfortable!!
