G'day all! I thought I should do a knitted finished object post - I've been knitting like crazy for the last couple of months. I've been taking part in a knitalong my favourite group on Ravelry (RemRants), Summer of Lace 2016.  I guess it isn't so much a knitalong where you all do the same pattern as a group encouragement thing where we show off what we've been knitting and it should have some lace in it. A couple of weeks ago I took some of my new knits down to the beach and did a photo shoot of them and a quilt I finished months and months ago. First, for your delectation and delight, we have Dawn : Convenient driftwood, and colours match the shawl! G'day all! Oh yes, I am pumping out the posts today after days of quietness. I've been a busy bee since Christmas. You saw the hole in our wall, well it got worse and now it is better. Not watertight yet but better. What did Santa bring me for Christmas? Purple hair and a sniffle! (hence the tissue) (I bought myself the necklace) I finished my 22leaves shawlette some time ago, but it was only this week that I managed to block it and weave in the ends. This is a lovely shawl and quite easy to knit. I love the mesh. I love the leaves. I love the whole shebang! I recommend you go and knit one too, if you are a knitter. G'day all! A few months ago, I joined the international shawl swap on Ravelry. A couple of days ago, I received my shawl. Isn't it pretty? And beautifully knitted and blocked. It is Evelyn Clark's Prairie Rose Lace Shawl, knitted by KateB in Jaggerspun Zephyr in Aegean Blue. I am very pleased with it. (Though that is not my most flattering shot 8-) :-) I am working on my partner's shawl. It won't be anywhere near as ethereal since she lives in Scotland and would prefer a practical shawl. Still puttering along here. I think the armpit is getting better but it is still pretty crabby and I get the most amazing zings from it every now and then. It feels like it is 10 times the size of the other armpit even though I can't feel it - I just get pain signals. But when I look at it, it looks normal enough, not particularly puffy or anything. G'day all! I am pretty sure I have not blogged this. I better not have! It didn't show up when I loaded my own blog.... (Talk about chemo brain - I just had to go investigate the funny hissing noise. Turns out it is the onions I put on to brown on the stove (obviously in a saucepan!). Oh. At least it wasn't a leaking hose, which is what I thought it was at first! Maybe I need my ears checked.) I had some sock yarn sitting around (doesn't everyone???) that had been part knitted into a sock. The hand of the yarn as a sock just was not doing it for me. It felt rather cottony but wrong for cotton too. I dyed it up hmm, three years or so ago. It was a test skein that I never really like. Looks pretty good as this little shawl though! G'day all! I am into my (Rav)Olympic projects now. Here's the World's Ugliest Sock - my personal footprint sock. I've been using scraps to knit it with. I love the emerald green and the heathered burgundy colours but not together! And the heel itself is knitted in some leftover hand-dye that I did ages ago. This is the foot blank. At the time I took the pic, it had no leg hole. See the white lines? They are where I had to pick up the stitches and put them back on the needles, then the pink bit is the centre stitch that was snipped so that I could make a leg hole! I've practically finished it now - only another round or two before I cast it off. It is a "footie" type sock now cos I can't be bothered finding some more Patonyle scraps to give it an actual cuff. I figure it will either be frogged or will be a lonely little sock always wanting a mate. Maybe I'll use some Lorna's Laces leftovers to make it a mate. Heck, it only took me sinc...
