We have a winner!

Gd'ay all! Sorry for the delay in posting - I had clear forgotten about DH's BBQ. I had ten comments of one form or another that weren't duplicated, so I sequentially numbered them one to ten, then stuck them in a random number generator I found online, and then came out! KittyKat, you are the winner!  You get your choice of one of: a nice skein of yarn either from my stash or undyed or hand-dyed by me, some Liberty fat quarters a mug rug or similar (undoubtedly in bright colours because that is what I keep!) a printed, matted photo of a pic from my blog or flickr. Let me know - email me at natiel311atgmail (the last two characters before the at are ones, not Ls). Have heaps to relate but no time to do it in at the moment.  Been a bit busy.. anon!

We have a starry winner

G'day all! On this, the last day of December in the year two thousand and ten, we finally have a winner of the Christmas stars. Here's seven stars. Winner gets five of these seven. The other two stars go to family. I think the winner will get three red and white and two green, red and white ones. Yes. That sounds good! Getting pics was the very devil today. It is 40C now. A little hot! The northerly is blowing like a furnace from hell. I managed to get a pic that looks like this: but most looked like this: Enough dithering and procrastinating. Do you want to know who the winner was? Well all the entries were written on a piece of paper and stuck in one of my knitting project bags. See? Then I drew out one piece of paper. LYNZ ! Come on down! You have won this lovely set of stars. I have a little more to say before then end of the day but I'll blog it separately. anon!

We have a winner!

G'day all! My blogiversary contest is now closed. We had 16 entries. (Hmm, guess my blog is not too popular, eh? I've seen contests with a thousand entries! Yikes!) Anyway, my random number generator picked number 13. Lusks , come on down! You are the lucky winner of your choice of the little pinwheel quilt, the shawl or the yarn/tops. Let me know what you'd like! (PM on ravelry or email is fine.) It is DH's birthday today but he is a long way away. Not too far but far enough. I'll see him this weekend. I've been arguing with myself about how to get to the airport. Take the train and the bus? Drive? Taxi to the airport? It is ridiculous that we do not have a train to the airport but the govt sez we don't need one. Yah, right. $100 for a taxi from here to there. OUCH! If we had a train and it was normal fares, it would cost about $6 for a two hour all zones ticket, which would get me from here to there. But no, we can't have a train cos ...

Winnah! And an FO

G'day all! In our first prize draw of the wotisit series, we have a winner! Minnie , come on down! Tell me what sort of colours you prefer and I shall dig in my stitchmarkers (never put up on Etsy) and send them off to you! (Oh an address would be handy too - email isn't good at sending lumpy or even very flat things!) In other news, I finished the top for my LYS. I would give you the yarn details but all I know is that it is worsted weight cotton in a colourway hand-dyed for my LYS . I think I used just under 5 skeins but am not sure cos the yarn came unlabelled and I didn't take any notice. It may be just under four skeins. I think I used a 5mm needle. The pattern is by Lorna Miser. It is linked on Ravelry here . I've as usual got too many pics. The picking up of stitches along the side and for the sleeves was a pita, quite frankly. The method of increasing on the sides (kf&b) leaves a little bar (This is still one of my favourite increases still). This ...

3rd blogiversary winner!

G'day all! I got my extra-special random number generator to spew out a lucky number for the comments, and it said 20968! Hmm, methinks I needed a number between 1 and 42, or the number of comments eligible for entry into the contest.... Heck, if I get 20968 real readers (not just google, bloglines and other search engines finding my blog) in a year, I reckon I am going really well! So we tried again, and the lucky winner is Theresa , of Knitting Under Way! Theresa, come on down and claim your very purple sock yarn! I've had lots of fun reading your comments, and goshdarnit a couple of you decided you should blog in part because of me! I am visiting all of your blogs slowly, slowly because... I almost have an FO! A whole big mansize sweater, started either Friday or Saturday week ago! I've been knitting like a maniac for days and days and days, and boy am I over this sweater! I might even have it finished before DH's birthday is over! But I have to finish the neck...
