Oh decisions!

G'day all!

G'day in particular to those people reading my blog from Poland, Switzerland, Finland, Thailand (wow - you knit in Thailand???) and Germany. I hope you are real and not just a figment of google's imagination! Give us a wave :-)

I have to do this work conference for two days. I am helping run it. I'd better be there! It should be good but I have very little time - I should be packing right now.

I had a couple of requests to see my sock yarn stash. This is almost all of the coloured stuff but not quite - I found an odd ball or two extra as I started stuffing stash into boxes:

How many balls and what types of yarn can you see in there? Some will be unidentifiable mind cos they never had labels. It all fitted into the Krusty bag. I might send the best guesser a little something :-)

I do have pics of clusters of the balls of yarn but I am time precious and job rich currently.

Plus here is the sock yarn to dye for - the sock yarn waiting for me to dye it up. Depending on how it goes, I might sell some of it cos really I have a little too much....

Now I have to make a decision - do I take only the Vermont yarn I am currently using or do I take the yarn I dyed with me. Or both? Do I rip the for now forgotten ugleeee sock off the needles and use them for the new sock? Will I get much chance to knit at the conference or will it be seen as rude? Can I fit both yarns into my daypack - I don't want to take a large bag cos it is only overnight and I've worked out something that should be nice to wear at the dinner tomorrow that only means putting on some jewellery and a glitzy top I bought today for $10. Of course I have to take a bag with some GF food in it as well just in case they don't cater for me well enough.

No pics of stuffed stash boxes at this stage - too busy! Plus it is dark now, well and truly. Plus I need more boxes. They are just cheap boxes from the local kmart and hardware supermarket. Not rubbermaid or starmaid or anything fancy. The cheapest ones don't even seal properly, but as long as I don't get bad moths that is ok - it will let things breathe a little.

Finally, to amuse Peevish even further

Being sucked dry by leeches isn't so bad.
You will be sucked dry by a leech. I'd stay away

from swimming holes, and stick to good old

cement. Even if it does hurt like hell when

your toe scrapes the bottom.

What horrible Edward Gorey Death will you die?

OK. I am unlikely to be around until Saturday evening, more like Sunday now, so avagoodun!

  1. That is a lot of sock yarn! Part of me wishes I had that much...then the sensible part of me slaps me upside the head to remind me what little time I have to actually knit!

  2. Purty sock yarn. I'll guess 42 for the colored stuff. :)

Ooooooooh thats a lot of sock yarn!!

What sort of yarn did you buy to dye and then turn into socks? I am looking for some 4ply yarn to dye and make into socks myself. I have thought about 4ply Bendigo..

I will guess about 34 of the coloured stuff..

  6. I thought my bag of untouched sock yarn was getting beyond reason. But I only have half as much as you. Does that mean I can buy more? Tough question.

  7. I currently have zero sock yarn and am mightily impressed by your sockie stash! I'll take a wild guess and say 53 balls.

Hope the conference goes OK and they do cater properly for you food-wise.
