argles - a quicky

G'day all!

Well I've completed my three days of work for this week and guess what?

They want me tomorrow and would like me on Friday the way things are going. But if I have to do 5 days of wrangling slow connections and sitting waiting for files to save I am going to go MAD! (That should read EVEN MORE INSANE!) So I will do four days a week but not five. No way, no how. (This means of course I'll end up doing six...)

I am off to an SnB tonight. I promised I would go, though my brain is done for after three days of wrangling Excel and copying and pasting info.

No pics - no time. Sock doth continue though. Almost ready to turn the heel.

    Looks like the new work likes you! Maybe a little too much huh? It's definitely a good idea to set some boundaries though because if you don't they'll walk all over you!

    Yay you! Remember though - don't be afraid to say "no, sorry, I've got a prior appointment that day" every now and then so they don't take advantage of you and fry your brane.
    Been trying to email you re: mumblyness (I've survived 1 week so far, you can too!). Let's chat.
    P.s. big news of day for me - my Maximum Staple Length has officially past 1 metre. Gawd.

    (Really, what is it about this whole "actually produce work for pay" issue they have?)

    Glad to hear they like you at work. Too bad about the slow computer though.

    See if you can sneak some knitting to work with you and knit a row or two while you wait for things to process. ;)

LOL G'day all! Apparently I can no longer blog more than once a month. Mea slacka, I admit. So what's been happening here? I've done a lot of knitting recently.  Ahem I may have bought a fair whack of yarn too.  So much for not spending money. I've been sick as a dog this week.  Gah.  I haven't been really ill with a virus for years - last time I was this sick was six years ago.  Man that was a fun month, DH having lost his job whilst we were getting new visas in Oz for said job, having to pack up and move everything we wanted to keep from the States, sell off the car, get rid of stuff.... all with me coughing my lungs up.  And the lymph node that came up that I thought was from a chest infection actually being breast cancer...  oh joy oh bliss. I even went to urgent care (the walk in, no appointment needed doc in a box that you see when your GP is booked out) cos I felt so crappy.   He confirmed it was probably viral and threw a heap of meds (not ABs)

Competition time!

G'day all! Because I am feeling generous at the moment, having given myself a nice dose of mercury (very therapeutic as long as you are Victorian or earlier, doncha know!) and also having developed a grand-niece, I reckon it is time for a competition. What do you need to do? One of two things (or both if you want!). Tell me: about a time you mishandled dangerous chemicals and/or compounds, eg when you played with a mercury switch and blew it up, causing mercury vapour to cover the whole area (including your lungs and skin...) or what I should do to appear more like a great aunt? (Eg how should I dress, what embarrassing habits should I adopt) (Don't say get wrinkly - I am working on that all by myself! LOL) Prizes are your choice of anything up to 100g of yarn not yet sold from my website or if there is something specific you particularly want that is sold I can see if I can dye some more up or do a custom dye job. Not a good post to read

I don't have much good to say today. I don't suggest you read what follows. . . . . . . . . . . I really do mean it. . . . . . . . . I went to the doctor today to get the last part of the puzzle of my cancer. I am a complete mess. I am trying to think of positives - I need some positives. My breast cancer is triple negative. Along with the grade III, poorly differentiated cells and aggressive nature of my cancer, I am losing hope for a good outcome (ie a cure). Tamoxifen will not help me. I was so hoping that it would be estrogen positive cos everyone I know who has had tamoxifen has done well. I have to set my sights lower. Heck, I'll be happy if I am in any shape to make it through next Christmas. It will be a miracle if I am still around in five years, let alone still around and healthy. Every box that can be ticked for a bad outcome is ticked on my pathology report. How much more of this can I take? I have serapax to try to calm me down but I am not game to
