Unreasoning lust

G'day all!

I'd like to think that some people leapt to the conclusion that my unreasoning lust is for my lovely husband on the eve of our fourth wedding anniversary but no....

The new Knitty is out and boy oh boy do I have total and unreasoning lust!

I want to make this only BIGGER! I'm mad. Totally mad. The Op Art baby blanket is consuming my soul.

Why on earth do *I* want to make a blankie? I've withstood the Hemlock blanket with a varying degree of success depending on how much yarn I find in my stash (now there's an idea - use up random stash yarns on an enormous doily with the gauge getting bigger as the blanket does...). I've scoffed at the idea of making a bedsize knitted item cos I know I will go totally insane with the long and tedious rows/long and tedious sewing up and weaving in of ends depending on the style of the blanket.

I guess I could make a baby sized one and then make a big one if I can stand it.... That way I can freak with some poor baby's brain (guess whose baby?) and then freak with my own. Yeah!

(Wow, just noticed that the temps in my home city and here are the same! It's been a while since that happened - I guess being summer here and winter/spring there... It is nearly 10:30pm here and 3:30pm tomorrow there.)

I took a momentous step today. I went to the local city hall and started getting me legal to sell stuff online here in the States. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was and how nice the people were to deal with. Tomorrow I have to register my trading name (guess what it is?) and then prolly Friday I'll go apply for a state tax number/seller's permit/whatever they want to call it so that I can do tax remits and stuff in case I manage to sell stuff to Californians. I've been working on some stuff to update my shop with - it hasn't been updated for ages due to worries about selling stuff in Oz whilst I am here, and also trying to find out which of my friends Back 'Ome has the yarn or tops in question. I'm going to have stitch markers on it along with some recycled yarn and I'll try to build up from there. I might resuscitate my Etsy shop too. Who knows? It could all be a terrible disaster or it might all work out OK. If I don't give it a shot.... (and also if I get a seller's permit I wonder if this means I can get wholesale wool orders? Hmmm.)

LOL G'day all! Apparently I can no longer blog more than once a month. Mea slacka, I admit. So what's been happening here? I've done a lot of knitting recently.  Ahem I may have bought a fair whack of yarn too.  So much for not spending money. I've been sick as a dog this week.  Gah.  I haven't been really ill with a virus for years - last time I was this sick was six years ago.  Man that was a fun month, DH having lost his job whilst we were getting new visas in Oz for said job, having to pack up and move everything we wanted to keep from the States, sell off the car, get rid of stuff.... all with me coughing my lungs up.  And the lymph node that came up that I thought was from a chest infection actually being breast cancer...  oh joy oh bliss. I even went to urgent care (the walk in, no appointment needed doc in a box that you see when your GP is booked out) cos I felt so crappy.   He confirmed it was probably viral and threw a heap of meds (not ABs)

Competition time!

G'day all! Because I am feeling generous at the moment, having given myself a nice dose of mercury (very therapeutic as long as you are Victorian or earlier, doncha know!) and also having developed a grand-niece, I reckon it is time for a competition. What do you need to do? One of two things (or both if you want!). Tell me: about a time you mishandled dangerous chemicals and/or compounds, eg when you played with a mercury switch and blew it up, causing mercury vapour to cover the whole area (including your lungs and skin...) or what I should do to appear more like a great aunt? (Eg how should I dress, what embarrassing habits should I adopt) (Don't say get wrinkly - I am working on that all by myself! LOL) Prizes are your choice of anything up to 100g of yarn not yet sold from my website or if there is something specific you particularly want that is sold I can see if I can dye some more up or do a custom dye job. Not a good post to read

I don't have much good to say today. I don't suggest you read what follows. . . . . . . . . . . I really do mean it. . . . . . . . . I went to the doctor today to get the last part of the puzzle of my cancer. I am a complete mess. I am trying to think of positives - I need some positives. My breast cancer is triple negative. Along with the grade III, poorly differentiated cells and aggressive nature of my cancer, I am losing hope for a good outcome (ie a cure). Tamoxifen will not help me. I was so hoping that it would be estrogen positive cos everyone I know who has had tamoxifen has done well. I have to set my sights lower. Heck, I'll be happy if I am in any shape to make it through next Christmas. It will be a miracle if I am still around in five years, let alone still around and healthy. Every box that can be ticked for a bad outcome is ticked on my pathology report. How much more of this can I take? I have serapax to try to calm me down but I am not game to
