Happy Harry Potter day!

G'day all!

Things are not too good around here at present. Still, we will get us a copy of Harry Potter at some point this weekend (I know, I know - we don't have it Right Now?) and will read it intently and it might distreact us from our woes (nb Ia m relatively happy but DH is in the pits). Then we will get us the Oz version cos it has a different cover and often different insides!

In the meantime I will wear my Harry Potter tshirt, the one that is the clothing brand not the book series.... just cos I can!

If we can get a car today, we are off to Fairplay (aka South park!). Hope we get the car....

    I'm sorry to hear that only half of you is doing well - is this just a little Rocky Mountain Low, is it just a glitch that is overcomeable? Surely there is someone in a techy place that can give him some more support? Hopefully it's just a little hill in the mountains of adjustment - for them, for you, for your computer.

    Such a shame, as you were swinging along really well. As you will again. I hope things sort out quickly for you both. And enjoy the last Harry Potter instalment. I'm trekking my way through it too.

    I missed out on going to the Bendy show yesterday due to a sudden operation for my husband. So stayed home, made a curly-whirly scarf and started reading.

    That's too bad. Hopefully, things will get better once he gets fully settled in and gets to know people. New jobs are hard and new jobs in another country are even harder.

    Cheer up N - tis a massive culture shock if nothing else moving half way round the world. We know you're more than capable on the job front and hope it all settles soon.

    New HP is great, I read it on Saurday cover to cover :-D Enjoyed it lots too, of course there are mixed opinions but personally I've only read one negative comment on the blogs etc.

LOL G'day all! Apparently I can no longer blog more than once a month. Mea slacka, I admit. So what's been happening here? I've done a lot of knitting recently.  Ahem I may have bought a fair whack of yarn too.  So much for not spending money. I've been sick as a dog this week.  Gah.  I haven't been really ill with a virus for years - last time I was this sick was six years ago.  Man that was a fun month, DH having lost his job whilst we were getting new visas in Oz for said job, having to pack up and move everything we wanted to keep from the States, sell off the car, get rid of stuff.... all with me coughing my lungs up.  And the lymph node that came up that I thought was from a chest infection actually being breast cancer...  oh joy oh bliss. I even went to urgent care (the walk in, no appointment needed doc in a box that you see when your GP is booked out) cos I felt so crappy.   He confirmed it was probably viral and threw a heap of meds (not ABs)

Competition time!

G'day all! Because I am feeling generous at the moment, having given myself a nice dose of mercury (very therapeutic as long as you are Victorian or earlier, doncha know!) and also having developed a grand-niece, I reckon it is time for a competition. What do you need to do? One of two things (or both if you want!). Tell me: about a time you mishandled dangerous chemicals and/or compounds, eg when you played with a mercury switch and blew it up, causing mercury vapour to cover the whole area (including your lungs and skin...) or what I should do to appear more like a great aunt? (Eg how should I dress, what embarrassing habits should I adopt) (Don't say get wrinkly - I am working on that all by myself! LOL) Prizes are your choice of anything up to 100g of yarn not yet sold from my website or if there is something specific you particularly want that is sold I can see if I can dye some more up or do a custom dye job. Not a good post to read

I don't have much good to say today. I don't suggest you read what follows. . . . . . . . . . . I really do mean it. . . . . . . . . I went to the doctor today to get the last part of the puzzle of my cancer. I am a complete mess. I am trying to think of positives - I need some positives. My breast cancer is triple negative. Along with the grade III, poorly differentiated cells and aggressive nature of my cancer, I am losing hope for a good outcome (ie a cure). Tamoxifen will not help me. I was so hoping that it would be estrogen positive cos everyone I know who has had tamoxifen has done well. I have to set my sights lower. Heck, I'll be happy if I am in any shape to make it through next Christmas. It will be a miracle if I am still around in five years, let alone still around and healthy. Every box that can be ticked for a bad outcome is ticked on my pathology report. How much more of this can I take? I have serapax to try to calm me down but I am not game to
