G'day all! It was my birthday a month ago today. So of course now I am going to share pics of my loot. My good buddy Knittyinpink sent me two lovely books: (neither of which I've started making a project from but I will! They are lovely books and very inspirational, I've just been running after different things recently... But many thanks!) I also ordered some fabric from Hawthorne Threads : Some Castle Peep FQs in blue, and some Wild Thyme FQs and a little extra yardage. Goodness there is a lot of fabric in that lot of FQs. It isn't my usual colour style but I really like about 90% of the range so I got the whole lot. And some extra bits and bobs that took my eye. I especially love the swirly aqua fabric, like LOTS! I want more of it. It is a Michael Miller fabric. I have quite a bit of that manufacturer's stuff. It is odd how I collect more of certain manufacturer's lines than others. G'day all! My friends wanted me to put these goggles on. Then they practically peed themselves with excitement. Not one of them looked and said eh. Nope, all weeing themselves. They think I should drive a tank (not a very small Helmet). They are all geeks and nerds, the lot of them. Of course, cos they are my friends. *sigh* (Look up Tank Girl, if you have no idea what I am talking about) I had another successful day. I spent much too much money ($25 citrus? I want! I've wanted a tahitian lime for ages cos I use limes in my cooking. Also a seedless valencia orange looks good too - we have a similar climate, a bit wetter, to San Jose and various fruit trees do well here)($99 market umbrella in blue with led lights affixed? Yeah!). I pulled out a heap of weeds - see this heap? It is nearly a metre high by close to a metre by a metre. It is big. (I guess that means it is pretty much a cubic metre, eh? G'day all! I have been a very naughty and remiss blogger. Ages ago, way back in July, I received the most wonderful gift. I haven't blogged it cos I was trying to get "nice" shots of it. I've given up on getting "nice" shots. Here's a couple of less nice shots that don't show enough of it (and btw, be careful when typing shots - i sits right next to o on the keyboard....). Do I look happy or what? And it came with a cap, which I crammed on my head over the striped hat I was wearing when I opened the box. G'day all! I have been terribly ungracious. (Actually it was someone known as me forgot to take pics of a couple of items received and then got all hung up on not being able to blog the gifties without all parts being acknowledged.) I received some parcels a month ago and haven't blogged them. (And I need to find the pics of another giftie that will be coming in handy very shortly given we are moving well into autumn and soon winter here.) G'day all! I've been participating in various of the Old Red Barn Co quiltalongs . A while ago, they started putting together squares to make some quilts to raise funds for breast cancer research and awareness. Well, there were a few quilts made. Quite a few. And last week, I got a box of cereal from Canada: (Very glad that quarantine let the box in - they can get funny about ex-food boxes). Odd, very odd I thought - who is sending me cereal from Canada? All duct-taped up? So I opened the box and out slid: That's awfully chewy cereal - lots of fibre in that lot! Or maybe, just maybe, it is a quilt! Isn't it lovely? Lots of people put a lot of effort into making these squares and then Marianne from the quiltalong put it all together to create a quilt (and that is the hardest part of making a quilt as far as I am concerned!). There were some extra bits and bobs, like a pillow case, two little lavender sachets, a hand-made card and some extra material (which I forgot...

G'day all! I got a lovely parcel in the mail yesterday. In it was some Blue Moon Fiber Arts Bambu in Diva (can't link to it, both the yarn and the colourway appear to be discontinued but I may be blind....) and a lovely beret in some Green Mountain Spinnery Cotton Comfort (weathered green - another colourway not listed on the website) (Most accurate colour shot) Isn't the beret lovely? (Front shot doesn't show you much, does it?) It is much too warm for today - its 32C/90F but it will come in handy for my poor presumably-by-then-hairless noggin when the weather starts cooling down :-) Thank you, Alison ! G'day all! I thought I should abuse your eyeballs with some birthday presents. Presents-wot-I-didn't-organise-myself. Surprise presents! The lovely mrspao sent me some goodies all the way from England: yummy choc-rice things and some Hipknits sock yarn in a colourway that is very me. Nathan says "too pale" but those pale colours look good on me. And my blogless friends M and M in Oz got a bunch o' people to contribute to rectifying a Great Problem - can you tell what it is from this pic? Oh and it was not just one block of chocolate - the big pic shows that I have a 14 week supply! However, under stress it will probably last about 10 weeks. My *Very favourite* chocolate cos I have never poisoned myself with it, though with that many blocks I probably could if I tried to eat it all at once 8-) Lovely prezzies!
