Do you see what I see?

Image
G'day all! After not being able to count to two yesterday, today I started taking pics of the commissioned cardigan. I thought they could be some eye candy. Nice pictures showing the never ending stretches of stocking stitch before steam blocking: And after steam blocking: (I now have an iron, bought mainly cos I can't do good sewing without one to press seams and stuff - fingers just were not cutting it!.) Pics that showed the fashion shaping of the sleeve head. Umm, hang on a tick, let's look at that a little more closely. Do you see what I see? Crap, poo and bottom. Someone decided to k2tog rather than ssk. Not just once, either. Nope she did it a few times. I then discovered that yarn really unwrinkles well when held over a steaming kettle. In other news, I've been doing a heap of dyeing recently. Lots of Kroy, which means I an do self-striping sock yarn and not have to charge $28 for it on Etsy. You guys will get to see it first, then it goes to Etsy. Not th...

Eye Candy Monday

Image
G'day all! Here's some pretties for you - shoulda posted them a bit earlier given that part of the world has already eaten lunch on Tuesday! Gerberas are such great photo fodder. Almost as good as strawflowers. Not that I have strawflowers today. And even more eye candy! What more could I want than a charming chap holding a stalk of one of my favourite veggies, brussels sprouts! (YMMV) You want fibre? Well there's plenty around here but no new pics to tease you with! No new pics edited... but I have been dyeing up self-striping sock yarn.... that might give you a hint of what is to appear on my shop! Plus I have started stocking my Etsy shop too... (ignore the banner problem - I'll fix that soon!) Finally, since I've had a stupid blogthing hanging around for a week, you get to see it too. Not that I think the first comment is true but a couple of then hit pretty darn close to the bone... The Castle Personality Test You have no problem diving into new experie...

We have TWO winners!

Image
G'day all! We have two winners for my birthday contest! TWO! Alison and Jess ! What are the prizes? A baggie of 5 or 6 stitchmarkers (let me know if you prefer gold or silver and aso if you despise any colours) and 100g of yarn (most likely sock yarn cos that is what I have most of unless you like handspun!) OR 400g (most of a pound) of unwashed wool OR 200g (nearly half a pound) of washed wool. Ladies, I am stupid enough to have not taken pics of the possible prizes so I have stolen links to those taken by others: STR Bella Coola , a blues and greens mix (2007 Rockin Sock club colour) in medium weight STR Dragon Dance flaming reds, rust, salmon (2008 Rockin Sock club colour) in lightweight (shows the club pattern too) Colinette Jitterbug in Popsicle . Note it is a lot more green than turquoise...but a very happy skein of colours I'd describe as tropical bird shades. The fleece? Well you can choose from my Rhinebeck extravaganza or from fleece I bought at Taos last year. ...
