Yarnivorous

G'day all! I've been finding me some love in the dye pot recently. Mmmm. Sock yarn, how many ways are there to make thee glow? Superwash merino in forestal: Nice and cushy yarn. Mmmm.... 80% merino/20% bamboo (almost sportweight or what Australians call 5 ply) in watercolour: Such a lush, plus yarn! 75% merino/25% nylon in cherryplum: (both sold, thanks!) A different 75%/25% blend in gothica: (both spoken for) All of these have enough yardage in each skein to make a pair of socks for a woman (say size nine or so). All of them are self-striping. All of them are looking for new homes. Since I am just starting up again and still working on finding out which yarn bases are good, I'm underpricing these just to get them to a (hopefully) good home. I want at least USD18 for each skein (note there are two skeins of gothica and two skeins of cherryplum but one skein is enough for socks). G'day all! No pics of FOs today. I have to find one of the socks that was completed before we moved. I also have to find its unmate that was made after we moved. Ahem. This would be a spoiler for the current STR club selection except if you haven't got the yarn and patterns by now, you really should give them/the post a prod. I know that not everyone loves pastels, including Tina at Blue moon Fiber Arts. But I love them. Light blue, pink, mauve and light green all look lovely on me - being pale and blonde I am best suited to blue and pink-based colours. Yellows and peaches look atrocious on me, as do any of the yellow-based and tinted colours. But this yarn, droollllll... Mmm, yummy! G'day all! I thought I should blitz you with some sock yarn pr0n. After all I won't be buying much yarn soon! Hmm, let's start with the yarn I bought at a recent sale and hid (most cunningly under a pile of clean washing and mending) for a couple of weeks. A new Online sock yarn. There were a whole range of colours that I thought very pretty - grassy green, pink, turquoise, and look what I walked away with: Yep, GREY! ME! Choosing a yarn with a grey background. I just thought the the colours poppedreally well out of it. Then there was some (new to me) Araucania sock yarn called Ranco Multy. Anyway, it looks very pretty, 75% wool, 25% nylon so it should be tough. It isn't machinewash though. Do you see that colour? Brown! OK, brown with some green and blue and golds and reds in it but brown. Me? I must be mad! This one might be a little more what you expect...
