Oh the pain of it all!

G'day all! This week I've been a Good Girl. I started the (long overdue) physiotherapy on my ankle. The ankle is doing just fine. But I've pulled a calf muscle and walking is fraught, especially after I've been sitting down for a while. Hopefully it will calm down a little after I saw them again today - they were very unsympathetic and said it was just "tired." If it didn't hurt so much (ie it is most certainly alive) I think I would say it is more than pining for the fjords, mate, it's b*ggered. Anyway, I've got a strength training thing for my legs now... I will have calves and thighs and maybe even ankles of steel after this! I've been knitting on DH's birthday sock and on the shop top but really? Not much more to show. OK, the second sock is almost at the heel. The shop top has half of the front frill. Blah blah blah. I've been working on the zigzag quilt, the one I haven't taken any progress photos of. Ooops. My bad...

Yowza!

G'day again all! I was a naughty bad girl today. At the shop I found a discounted bonus pack of omnigrid rulers (useful for quilting and anything where you need a straight edge) for the same price as the one I was going to buy (except the one I was going to buy was also discounted, so I spent more than I needed to). So I bought the set. I brought them home and just thought I'll open up the pack and pull out the one for I need for marking my current quilt project. The beast BIT me! (not for the truly squeamish) It cut my thumb tip open! My main knitting thumb! Gosh now I am cranky with it. I didn't realise the edges of those things were sharp ! But they are really quite sharp and the corners? Yikes, you could have an eye out with those things. Maybe the bonus packs are made cheaper than the single rulers - my green one has sharp corners but you'd have to do more than run your finger along the edge to cut yourself on it. I'll show it! I'll USE it with...

I care not for this week

Bring me another week! This has not been a good week so far. It started off quite well, with me finding I can survive riding 25km dragging the bike trailer in various states of loading and not suffering badly the next day (unless you count the never ending EATING that followed for the next day and a half!). Then on Tuesday I rolled over in my sleep and managed to rotate my ribs on one side whilst the other side stayed put. I don't know how that is possible but two or three ribs were not sitting where they should be = can't breathe, shoulder whackiness and lower back spasms! Yay me! (Much better after seeing the chiro) Tuesday I had planned to go into town with Nathan and take pics of the jacarandas that I saw on Sunday. I got as far as the chiro (half a mile) and back. Today (Wednesday) I went into town with DH so I could take photos of the jacarandas. Aren't they lovely? I'll let you admire them. Some even had knitted tree-warmers on them! (more pics on flickr ) ...

Day of pain

G'day all! Hope it's been a better day for you than me! This morning I "did" my back (it was playing up already but I moved the wrong way and WHAMMY!). I went to the doctor where I got a mole shaved off. That didn't hurt until the anaesthetic wore off and now? Burns! Anyways, I hopped onto my bike for the umpteenth time today (doctor's visit, then find a chiro - had to ride to them cos we don't have a phone yet, then grocery shopping then back to the chiro.) Chiro does all this stuff and then tells me I have a disk bulge. Crapulous. No wonder why it hurts more and has more neurological signs than the usual SI joint popping. More crapulous? Even though we have health insurance, the $40 a pop co-pay means that after four visits this week, we can't afford a mobile (cell) phone. Bottom and poo! Oh and he doesn't want me riding my bike. Umm, well I can walk there but he doesn't want me walking much either. Or sitting much or standing much ...
