Technical issues and a not quite FO

G'day all! It has been an all over the place day. DH is really struggling and things are tough. Of course when the going gets tough, the tough get going. What do they do? They knit lace! They NUNO-felt! Felting is good for getting frustration out, but I don't feel much frustration currently - maybe the felting got it all out! I have finally finished the knitting of last year's Mystery Stole . At the same time as I did the final grafting of the old stole, the first clue for this year's stole came out! Talk about timing! Now on the subject of grafting, I had to graft the two ends of the stole together. Y'see someone didn't read the chart for the stole very well. She decided that the blank lines did not mean knit here, they meant ignore this line. Ooops! The blank lines still had boxes for each stitch and were inside the big thick line that was the outside edge of the stole, someone was just a bit der Fred and ignored it. Here's how it looked: ICKO! Stupidly excited

G'day all! I am so excited about having nearly finished Mystery Stole 3 that I keep not knitting it. Given that I just realised that I still have over 2500 stitches to go, I'd best keep going, eh? I've been busy this week - have to put up a post on Victorian, on the Move for our trip to a local iconic attraction (or two). I've been frantically knitting this shawl - I'm on the easy bit now that I can just work by remembering the pattern, not having to read the graph for every row for every stitch.... DH has been melting down in a bad way and I am seriously considering finding a GOOD doctor and shoving him at them, only finding good doctors is hard and expensive ($250 for an initial visit!!! CRIKEY!). It's also HOT! In the mid 30s all week! (Thats 90s for Americans) Makes it hard to go out and look at stuff. So much for this idea the summer "ends" on labour day weekend, which has just passed. I was healed today. A guy on the train came and bles...

Yarn Pr0n - a present!

G'day all! Lookie what arrived the other day! A prezzie for me :-) One of my good English buddies promised me a certain sort of yarn . But I got more than that! Thanks, Dreamcatcher ! Of course you want close ups of the yarn. Here you go! Lovely, eh? The one with white in it is from the Yarn Yard and the pink/blue/mauve one is Posh Emily in Jolly. Oh boy, I just can't wait to find a good project for these - any suggestions? Plus I bought a little something from Fearless Fibers : Getting accurate representations of these purply colours is almost impossible. That one is called Midnight Passion and oh boy is it a luscious 4 ounces/550 yards of purply goodness! (BTW, for any of my Aussie mates, if you want something off one of these etsy places or some place on the web that only ships within the USA, you know who to ask! You can use my address and pay me back the postage to Oz via paypal. Email me if you want my address.) You wanna see some recent knitting? Well I am onl...
